The Muny's Assistant Director of Marketing Larry Pry appeared on "Today In St. Louis" this morning, October 27, to announce the theater's 2013 season.
Celebrating 95 spectacular summers in Forest Park, The Muny announces its 2013 summer season, a mix of contemporary musicals and timeless classics, including four Muny premieres. The seven shows are: Les Misérables, The Muny’s Production of Disney and Cameron Macintosh’s Mary Poppins, Nunsense–Muny Style!, The Muny’s Production of Dreamworks Theatricals Shrek–The Musical, South Pacific, Monty Python’s Spamalot and West Side Story.

Last seen at The Muny in 2007, Les Misérables has been one of the most popular musicals since it opened in London in 1985, with its glorious scenery, grand theatrics and epic Victor Hugo story.
Making its Muny premiere, The Muny Production of Disney and Cameron Mackintosh’s Mary Poppins isone of the most eagerly anticipated productions of the season. Winner of 44 major theatre awards from around the globe, Mary Poppins has captivated audiences for generations.
The Muny is “blessed” to usher in the debut of the 30th anniversary all-Muny edition of the international phenomenon, Nunsense–Muny Style! Making its Muny debut, this divine comedy follows the Little Sisters of Hoboken, members of a spirited and inspired convent, in their effort to raise money to bury members of their order – victims of an unfortunate vichyssoise “incident.” Nunsense has enjoyed 5,000 productions worldwide and has been translated into 21 languages.
The Muny’s Production of Dreamworks Theatricals Shrek–The Musical will make its Muny premiere. Once upon a time there was a swamp dwelling ogre who went on an adventure with his best friend, a very talkative donkey. Along the way, he fought a fearsome dragon, rescued a feisty princess, and learned that real friendship and true love aren’t only found in fairytales. Shrek–The Musical was nominated for eight Tony Awards and features a terrific score of 19 all-new songs.Final show order and performance dates will be announced at a later time.
