BWW Likes: Historic Winter Storm and LES MIZ

BroadwayWorld.com noticed something today as we combed over Facebook and it's something that we really liked, so we wanted to share it with you because it's not so often that you find such generosity for actors. This weekend, all roads lead to St. Louis, as actors are headed there from all over the country to audition for the MUNY's summer production of LES MISERABLES directed by Richard Jay-Alexander and with music direction by Kevin Stites.

Last weekend, the MUNY was mobbed for auditions and this weekend, with LES MIZ, they're expecting even more. The show indeed continues to be one of the most beloved with a score that has endured already over 25 years.

What's amazing, is that the MUNY posted this on their Facebook page (already 'liked' by 27,275 fans and growing) and we've never seen anything so accommodating, so we're giving it a huge thumbs up from here as our first 'BWW Likes'. Here's what they wrote:

"ATTENTION THOSE SINGERS PLANNING TO AUDITION SATURDAY FEBRUARY 9th. The MUNY is aware that many of you may experience travel delays due to the weather in the northeast. If you are forced to arrive late to the audition due to the weather, you WILL still be heard by our audition panel. Safe travels!"

Congrats to everyone at the MUNY, including 'new sheriff in town' Executive Producer Mike Isaacson. Well done and good luck with your auditions and safe travels! We can't wait to see who's cast.

Denis Jones (Director/Choreographer) returns to The Muny after directing/choreographing the 2012 acclaimed production of Chicago, and choreographing the premiere of Pirates!. Chicago was selected by Judy Newmark of the St. Louis Post Distpatch as 2012's "Best Musical Big and Bold!" He recently choreographed Fifth Avenue's production of Elf!. Denis is currently choreographing the new musical Nerds. Other credits include Jane Krakowski in The Laziest Gal in Town (Town Hall, NYC), Damn Yankees (Paper Mill Playhouse/5th Ave theatres), ...Forum and She Loves Me (Williamstown Theatre Festival), Piece of My Heart (NY Stage and Film), Disaster! (Triad, NYC), and LiberTy Smith (Ford's Theater). Denis was the associate choreographer for Broadway's Legally Blonde and Dirty Rotten Scoundrels. Recent projects include Legally Blonde (North Carolina Theatre) and the Broadway-bound Honeymoon in Vegas.

Ben Whiteley (Music Director) was last seen at The Muny in 2012 as music director for Pirates!. Muny: Kiss Me, Kate; Beauty and the Beast (twice); Sound of Music (twice); South Pacific; Music Man; Oklahoma!; Meet Me in St. Louis. Broadway/National Tours: The Addams Family, Spamalot, Cats, The Full Monty, Grand Hotel, Falsettos, Big. ForCarnegie Hall: Sail Away (with Elaine Stritch), Carnegie Hall Salutes Comden and Green, A Tribute to Alan Jay Lerner. Recently conducted Damn Yankees for Paper Mill Playhouse and 5^th Avenue Theatre. Ben prepared and conducted the chorus for the Sony Classics recording of Rodgers and Hammerstein's Allegro.
