Upstream Theater will present the local premiere of Outlying Islands by David Greig, one of Scotland's leading playwrights. Set on a remote island off the coast of Scotland on the eve of World War II, the play shows three characters caught in a web of mounting sexual tension. A keen exploration of the human animal, a moving study of young people grappling with emotions, and a brilliant snapshot of that pristine moment in 1939 before the cataclysm-told with a lyrical language that has a power all its own. For mature audiences.

Starring Elizabeth Birkenmeier, Jason Cannon*, Scott McMaster and Jerry Vogel*. Directed by Philip Boehm, with guest designers Steve Carmichael (lighting), Michael Heil (set), and LaLonnie Lehman (costumes). The show runs three weekends at the Kranzberg Arts Center in the Big Brothers/Big Sisters Building at 501 N. Grand (corner of Olive). On Thursday through Saturday, all performances begin at 8 PM. Sunday April 11th and 18th at 7 PM, and Sunday the 25th at 3 PM only.

Tickets are $25. Senior tickets (65 and older) are $20, and full time students with valid ID may purchase tickets for $15. Thursday student rush tickets are available for $12.50.
