Asolo Repertory Theatre announces that it was awarded a $65,000 Arts Appreciation Grant by Gulf Coast Community Foundation. The grant will provide core support for Asolo Rep's thrilling 2015-16 season, which boasts a roster of re-imagined classics, a Broadway-bound world premiere, and thrilling contemporary productions. The season, with an overlying theme of 'Times of Change,' marks the fourth year of the theatre's American Character Project, an ambitious five-year examination and celebration of the extraordinary people, culture, history and experiences that make our country unique. 

Today, March 16, 2015, Asolo Repertory Theatre and the FSU/Asolo Conservatory for Actor Training announced their highly anticipated 2015-16 seasons with a special presentation in the Mertz Theatre.

Asolo Rep will present 'Inside Asolo Rep: WEST SIDE STORY' today, November 4, 2015. Coffee and pastries will be served in the theatre's lobby at 10am, followed by the panel discussion at 11 a.m. in Asolo Rep's mezzanine.

The world premiere production of DUSTY, the new British musical about the rise to fame of 60s superstar DUSTY Springfield, will end its record-breaking run at Charing Cross Theatre on November 21, 2015 as planned.

 Asolo Repertory Theatre kicks off its highly anticipated 2015-16 season with the electrifying Tony Award-winning musical WEST SIDE STORY. One of the greatest musicals ever written, Asolo Rep's production will open Friday, November 13 at 8pm and run through Sunday, December 27, with previews November 10 - 12 at 8pm in the Mertz Theatre located in the FSU Center for the Performing Arts. This American masterpiece was crafted by some of the most legendary artists of all time, with a book by Arthur Laurents, music by Leonard Bernstein, lyrics by Stephen Sondheim, and choreography by Jerome Robbins. Two-time Tony Award nominee Joey McKneely, who reproduced the choreography for the celebrated 2009 Broadway revival, will direct and reproduce Robbins' timeless choreography for Asolo Rep's production.

Uptown Players closes its 2014 season with the Regional Premiere of the 2003 Tony Award winning musical, The Boy From Oz. The record-breaking UK national tour of 'WEST SIDE STORY' is now entering the final three months of its year-long tour. There are just eight stops left until the tour ends at the Theatre Royal Norwich on 13 September 2014.

West Side Story returns to its theatrical home at the National Theatre for one week only, today, June 3 through 8. The landmark American musical made its world premiere at the National in 1957 prior to heading to Broadway, as did its revival in 2008, and now the North American tour of this celebrated story concludes in Washington at the place where it all began.
